Now that have released the alpha version to a few people i can find sync problems much faster. The sync became better now but its still not 100%. I can play games between win32 and lin64 till completion now. Also fixed up lots of desync reporting i can find them diagnose them much better now.

What do you think is the next big thing for 2aw alpha?

I want to add version checking on joining zones. Right now if players join from different version they desync. So when player joins a mismatched version a message is shown: "New version is out please restart to update and join this battle" or "This battle is of older version please join a different battle"

Next on the list, there should be more control over zones and AI. I been thinking some thing like this: * Zones start out with 3v3 AI battle. * When a player joins one of the AI's leave. More players join more AI leave. * When there is more then 3 human players on any one side a new battle is opened.

How do you think zones should be operated?

This goes into distribution of command points (the money in the game). I was thinking some thing like this: take the side with most players. Give each player there 100 CP. Total up the CP given to that side. So with 8 players that's 800. Now on side with fewer players give each player other players side divided by number of players. So if the side had 5 players its 800/5 or 160 per player. This way the sides are always equal and there is no hogging for resources like new player make ships and never attacks, preventing other people making ships, making more and more ships until the team has lost the game. And all players have equal CP in their own side. Also the CP should replenish faster for a player when you have few. Maybe x5 the rate when CP is 0, x2 rate when CP is 40 and usual rate when CP is like 70. This way you can get your ships fast and get to action, but players that play smarty and don't loose as many ships have advantage.

What do you think?
